Exciting news from Universal Audio – they have just announced the UAD-2 Satellite Thunderbolt 3. Building on the success of the UAD-2 Satellite, these units now are equipped with two Thunderbolt 3 ports (for daisy-chaining of Thunderbolt peripherals), and are backwards compatible with Thunderbolt 1 and 2 ports on Apple computers (using the Apple Thunderbolt 3 to Thunderbolt 2 Adapter – not included). On Windows machines they need a Thunderbolt 3 port – they are not supported with Thunderbolt 1 and 2 ports.
