1500 singers came to Luminato Festival at the Hearn Generating Station in Toronto. Daveed + Nobu (AKA DaBu) taught them back up parts to Leonard Cohen’s Hallelujah, then Rufus Wainwright joined them on stage to sing lead.Universal Audio and Royer Labs were also in attendance! Byron Wong sent us this lovely message:

It was a very very hard thing to capture due to all of the rules and regulations and we had extremely limited time, one of the most difficult times I have had getting what I needed as a director. But I think it ended up working out very well (at least the feedback has been lovely)!
We used an Apollo 8P for recording and number of UA plug ins for the mix. It worked flawlessly and had to – it was a once in a lifetime event. The mix should have been a disaster but we pulled through that too and in many way due to the robustness of the Apollo! The Royer 122 V Riboon was used as our centre room mic between a pair of DPA’s!
Thanks again to all of you at HHB Canada, Universal Audio and Royer Labs for all the support and kindness.
