HHB Canada and Manley Labs would like to invite you to Noble Street Studios for an evening of sonic demonstrations, explanations, conversation, Thai food, and local craft beer!

Marek Stycos from Audio Alchemist will walk us through the ins and outs of all things Manley! Kat Lucas will be our guest vocalist for the evening to help demonstrate the superior quality of Manley microphones, preamps, EQ’s and compressors.

Later in the night we will be joined by Rich Chycki and Phil Demetro for an open discussion on engineering, mixing, and mastering moderated by Marek!

Biographies of guests:

Marek Stycos – Studio owner: New York, Los Angeles, Miami. Founder of Audio Alchemist: analog enlightenment evangelist for investment grade audio jewelry and stand up comedian.

Kat Lucas – singer-songwriter, multi-instrumentalist and session musician based in Toronto, Canada. She is currently recording the first EP for her new project stormylovechild, and also sings lead vocals and plays keys and guitar in alternative/indie duo Toy Daggers.

Kat has built an extensive career as a touring musician over the years, most recently on the road with international pop star P!NK playing keys, guitar, and singing backing vocals in her band. Kat has made a number of TV appearances, such as Jimmy Kimmel, VH1 Storytellers, Ellen, and The Today Show, as well as awards shows like The American Music Awards and the MTV Video Music Awards. She has also played at legendary festivals like Isle Of Wight and Hyde Park Wireless, and has been featured on Entertainment Tonight. She was part of two live tour DVDs with P!NK, for the “Truth About Love” (which was nominated for a Grammy) and for “Funhouse”. Besides P!NK, she has also worked with Canadian artists such as Lights and Ashley MacIsaac.

Phil Demetro – Since going into full-time operation in November of 2000, Phil has mastered thousands of projects. Over the years he has won several project related Junos, taught and lectured at several of Toronto’s best recording schools and has had numerous mastering articles published.

Phil continues to push the boundaries of audio mastering and remains one of the most in-demand and successful full-time Mastering Engineers in Canada.

Rich Chycki – Rich is an engineer and mixer whose clients include such rock royalty as Rush, Aerosmith, Dream Theater, Def Leppard, Mick Jagger and Skillet!

At last count, Chycki has earned upwards of 75 gold and platinum sales awards worldwide. Rich Chycki began his engineering journey as a guitar player, working in studios in Toronto, Canada. He relocated to Los Angeles, recording and mixing in some of the world’s finest studios like Ocean Way, Henson, Capitol, The Record Plant, and in London’s Power Station Studios. He subsequently added artists like Pink, Seal, Shawn Colvin and Dolores O’Riordan from The Cranberries to his resume. While he uses Toronto as his home base, Chycki’s client list centers in the USA and Europe.
